In this position, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of robotic construction equipment at Genie. You will lead the technician team in the development, integration, and maintenance of cutting-edge robotic systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in robotics, automation, and advanced control systems, and will contribute to improving safety, efficiency, and productivity across Genie Lift’s product line. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across mechanical, electrical, quality, and software engineering to develop innovative automation solutions in welding, manufacturing and parts delivery for our Genie Lifts.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in robotics development, troubleshooting, and deployment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with industrial automation systems in the material handling or construction equipment sector
  • Familiarity with Genie Lift equipment and its operational environment
  • Knowledge of collaborative robots (cobots) and human-robot interaction
  • Experience with off-road, construction, or industrial vehicle automation
  • Familiarity with human-machine interaction (HMI), teleoperation, and remote-control technologies
  • Knowledge of robotic welding, material handling, or automated assembly systems
  • Experience with cloud-based automation and IoT integration

Responsibilities

  • Support Robotic System Development: Design, build, test, and refine robotic components and systems for production of Genie Lift equipment
  • Integration & Calibration: Ensure smooth integration of robotic systems with mechanical, electrical, and software components, maintaining precise calibration for optimal performance
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, software) to implement robotics solutions and streamline production processes
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to robotic systems, ensuring continuous operation and reliability
  • Documentation & Training: Create detailed technical documentation and provide training to other technicians and engineers on robotic systems and best practices
  • Compliance: Ensure robotic systems meet all safety, regulatory, and industry standards
