Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech Strategic Robotics R&D - Robotics Data Co-Op The Robotics and Digital solutions (RAD) group, part of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, is recruiting for a Robotics Data Co-Op for the Strategic Robotics R&D Team. This position is located in Santa Clara, CA. What We Do: The Strategic Robotics R&D team envisions a future for robotic intervention that is targeted, minimally invasive, and personalized. Building upon a deep understanding of patient and physician needs, we are developing a platform for the next evolution of soft-tissue robotic care. Who We Are: We are a team of clinical, electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, robotic controls, and software engineers who are passionate about improving patient care. The team includes a wide range of experience levels from junior engineers to industry experts. We follow an iterative design approach to product development that requires us to collaborate closely across clinical, instruments, accessories, and capital hardware teams. You: As a member of the Strategic Robotics R&D team you will join us on our journey to design and build one of the world's most advanced medical robotic platforms. You will work alongside all engineering functions to make contributions to our data collection and processing pipeline, and assisting clinical engineers through their procedures by fully understanding the robotic system. This role offers a high degree of autonomy and opportunities for growth within the team as we progress towards realizing our vision.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited program pursuing a bachelor's, graduate degree, or Ph.D. in software, mechatronics, robotics, or similar and returning to an academic program after the completion of the internship.
  • Proactive self-starter with experience working with physical and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with software development and version control systems (Git, etc.).
  • Familiarity with C++ and python.
  • Experience developing web-based applications for data processing and display.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have work authorization in the United States at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
  • Ability to relocate across the United States as required by the internship program.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ROS 2, specifically message interfaces and rosbags.

Responsibilities

  • Implement remote data processing pipeline using Databricks and dashboards for data analysis.
  • Develop processes for data uploading and processing procedural telemetry data.
  • Work closely with other research scientists, robotics engineers, and software engineers to transfer solutions into Johnson and Johnson products and applications.
  • Support clinical evaluations by maintaining hardware and software to ensure procedural completion.
