Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Some technical knowledge and ability to follow standard work and procedures
Ability and experience in using a variety of different welders and demonstrated welding techniques
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift/move up to 10 pounds regularly; 25 pounds frequently; 40 pounds occasionally

Responsibilities

Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams to perform task at hand
Selects appropriate weld jig, positions and secures piece parts in weld jig by loading parts by hand or by hoist
Performs MIG tack welds and seam welds based on project needs
Sets up welding cells for production runs
Buff and inspect welded surfaces to insure quality standards are met
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, regulations, and active participation in all 5S efforts and initiatives
Perform daily maintenance tasks on fixtures including but not limited to running robot through torch alignment, clean fixtures, change weld consumables (tips, nozzles, diffusers)
Strives to meet all established safety, quality, cost, and productivity standards
Continually seeks to improve production methods, equipment performance and overall quality of product
Ability to learn a variety of different product lines
Identify and apply Lean methodologies to ensure processes are scientifically controlled and continuously improved
Willingly performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
