Shift Schedule: 3rd Shift: Sunday night - Friday morning 10:15 PM - 6:15 AM, Overtime as business needs require 3rd Shift Starting Pay: $29.38/hour (includes 8% shift premium) Job Purpose: Under general supervision, responsible for the set-up, maintenance and operation of robotic welding equipment and other duties as assigned. Typically reports to a supervisor. As a Robot Technician at Caterpillar, you will: Follow documented procedures standard work, routings, and blueprints to perform safe and defect free work and adjustment of components and machines. Follow and utilize CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work. Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition. Be able to function as part of a team and be willing to be multi-trained. Be a contributing team member. Perform other related work duties as assigned. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods. Ability to perform repetitive operations. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Requirements

  • Must include a resume to be considered.
  • Requires a mechanical or electronic aptitude with a good working knowledge of fabrication and machining practices.
  • Must have GMAW welding experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency computer skill with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have effective communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Robotic experience with: Touch Sensing Through the Arc Seam Tracking Position Registers User Frames Tool Center Point Welding/Weaving Schedules Remastering Macros
  • Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints
  • Complete understanding of welding defects and weld inspection tools
  • Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic fixtures.
