About The Position

Roadway Design Engineering Specialist to join our Pennsylvania team. You can be based in Douglassville, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, or Philadelphia. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • 0+ years of experience.
  • Proficient with MicroStation and Inroads/OpenRoads modeling design software or AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with AASHTO and local agency design standards is required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering is a plus
  • Successful completion of the FE exam preferred.
  • PennDOT and municipal client experience is a plus
  • OpenRoads Designer experience is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional society membership and involvement is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Providing professional design services for transportation improvement projects for the PennDOT and local County/City agencies
  • Develop and refine 3D models, alignments, profiles, corridors, cross-sections, typical sections, superelevation data, and miscellaneous roadway detail sheets for transportation projects.
  • Designing to adhere to ADA Standards
  • Coordinating with the design team for developing and providing technical direction
  • Coordinating with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget, and the development of specifications, cost estimates, reports and preparing final bid packages
  • Assisting with the preparation of technical and cost proposals.
  • Maintaining relationships with client technical staff and project managers
  • Attending project meetings with clients, sub-consultants, and the project team
  • Stay current with industry trends, software advancements, and best practices related to OpenRoads, applying new knowledge to enhance project outcomes.
