Primary Purpose : Maintain safe and attractive roads, grounds and landscaping for the district. Qualification Guidelines : Education/Certifications: High School Diploma or GED (Preferred) Valid Texas driver's license Experience: One-year experience in gardening and landscape maintenance One-year experience in heavy equipment desired Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of gardening and landscape maintenance Ability to communicate (verbally) Ability to operate riding or power mower, power tools, and hand tools Ability to work with people and take direction from supervisor Supervisory Responsibilities: None Mental/Physical/Environmental Demands: Tools/Equipment Used: Heavy equipment, tractor and mower; riding and power mower; gas-powered weed trimmer; blower; edger; sprayer; striping machine; garden and hand tools; aerator; truck or van Posture/Motion/Lifting: Continuous walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, carrying and heavy lifting; work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, outside and inside Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours. Exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals (fertilizer), and loud noises; frequent district wide travel, works around machinery with moving parts; works on ladders or scaffolding Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; communicate effectively and professionally at all times
