This position is responsible for maintaining County road signs and other traffic control devices and markings in good condition. The employee is required to be on duty before, during, and after natural disasters and emergencies, as directed by the supervisor. Key duties include installing and repairing county signs, ordering signs from sign makers, and maintaining a sign inventory. The role involves continually inspecting county traffic control signs and devices to ensure they meet MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices) requirements. The worker also makes, installs, and repairs barricades and delineators. The job requires the use of various equipment such as a hydraulic auger, electric generator, winch, cutting torch, and post hole digger for the removal, repair, and installation of signs and devices. Driving a pick-up truck to job sites is also an essential part of the role.
