About The Position

Road Mechanic – Construction Equipment H.O. Penn Machinery HIRING IMMEDIATELY Road Mechanic – Construction Equipment  Holtsville, NY Pay: $62.21/hour Benefits: UNION Shop! Pension, welfare, annuity, and vacation funds Medical/dental/vision insurance Paid company holidays Key qualifications: Minimum five (5) years’ experience in troubleshooting and repair of heavy construction equipment required, CAT strongly preferred Must be computer proficient to be able to run diagnostic software and prepare service communications Must have strong communication skills and have a high level of self-management Clean & valid driver’s license required, CDL license preferred Responsibilities: Successfully provide service of recognized superior value  Troubleshoot problems Efficiently utilize resources to correct problems Document steps taken to correct problems Maximize the efficient use of service and welding processes to provide fast accurate service and minimize unnecessary expense Plan proper repair procedures for efficiency Efficiently utilize tooling and technical resources Continually improve key processes Effectively communicate status of repair work with supervisor Effectively communicate with customers. Represent H.O. Penn in a positive, professional manner Communicate customers’ options to correct current problems Advise customer of cost of repair and collect payment as required A culture that focuses on safety and safe work habits Be an active part in the continuous improvement of H.O. Penn’s safety culture Timely completion of any required safety training for self Adherence to all Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies Understand job risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate those risks, such as wearing all required personal protective equipment as required by task Qualifications: Minimum five (5) years’ experience in troubleshooting and repair of heavy construction equipment required, CAT strongly preferred Must be computer proficient to be able to run diagnostic software and prepare service communications Must have strong communication skills and have a high level of self-management Clean & valid driver’s license required, CDL license preferred Physical Requirements: Standing and walking (including on uneven surfaces) Sitting, body rotation, and forward bending (in both sitting and standing positions) Lifting up to 60 lbs. (machine or team lift for items over 50 lbs.)
