Job Summary Plays an active role in running the membrane systems.

Requirements

  • Computer experience helpful
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with little supervision
  • Must be dependable and trustworthy
  • Must be able to work in hot and wet conditions
  • Must be certifiable on the membrane systems
  • Ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment
  • Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality
  • Ability to stand and walk the entire shift if needed
  • Ability to read and write instructions in English
  • Knowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals
  • Must be able to work weekends, and overtime as required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain solids on RO1, UF, & RO 2 units
  • Maintains pH levels within 5.9 to 6.2 limits
  • Test RO1, UF, & RO2 membranes and replace them as needed
  • Monitor levels in all silos
  • Maintain DMB’s on the UF unit
  • CIPS all of the membrane systems
  • CIPS silos & product lines
  • Perform minor maintenance items (e.g. changes gaskets, seals, and cleaning items, check balls)
  • Keep floors, pipes, equipment, control room, and assigned work area clean
  • Assist in the training of other operators
  • Keeps chemicals and products organized, full, and neat
  • Helps maintain a good safe work environment
  • Takes active role in continuous improvement teams
  • Completely fills out all log sheets and pulls daily samples
  • Helps maintain CIP recorder chart & book
  • Take an active part in loss control
  • Reports any quality or equipment problems
  • Become Membrane Certified
  • Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
  • Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
