About The Position

Turner and Townsend are seeking a RNG Field Project Manager to provide on‑the‑ground leadership, coordination, and oversight across Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) construction and field execution activities. This role acts as the field‑based extension of the project engineering, construction, and HSSE organizations - ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution of work. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong project management skills, construction management acumen, practical technical awareness, and the ability to interface effectively with contractors, vendors, engineers, and site operations. This role requires autonomy, clear communication, and consistent field presence to ensure scope adherence, HSSE compliance, and high-quality work delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years in project management, construction management, or similar field-based roles in an operating asset within industrial, energy, utilities, manufacturing, or related sectors.
  • Experience working in operating environments involving mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation installations.
  • Experience working with contractors and managing field HSSE expectations.
  • Degree or technical certification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Strong project management capability, including planning, prioritizing, and coordinating field activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, field execution practices, and industrial safety requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (P&IDs, isometrics, electrical schematics, civil/structural drawings). Ability to lead minor engineering scopes for small capital improvement projects.
  • Solid contractor management skills, with the ability to set clear expectations, monitor performance, and drive accountability for safety, quality, and schedule. Comfortable taking field measurements and validating physical installations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to represent engineering and project teams in the field.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with contractors, operators, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, field documentation apps, etc.).
  • Highly observant with strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive, hands‑on, and comfortable spending significant time in the field.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Team‑oriented, collaborative, and safety‑focused.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of minor capital improvement projects, including overseeing minor engineering scopes as well as field execution and construction activities.
  • In support of other Houston-based project managers, responsible for the following field technical verification tasks for all capital improvements:
  • Take field measurements to verify equipment fit (valves, instruments, piping, etc.) prior to installation.
  • Validate installations against drawings and specifications; escalate discrepancies to engineering.
  • Track the delivery, condition, and storage of materials for capital projects arriving onsite. Verify that equipment received matches purchase orders and engineering specifications. Coordinate with supply chain and project engineers to address missing or damaged materials.
  • Support troubleshooting or technical clarification requests from contractors.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day construction activities across multiple RNG sites. Serve as the primary field interface for construction contractors and specialty vendors.
  • Monitor contractor performance, schedule adherence, and work quality. Ensure contractor compliance with work scopes, procedures, and permit requirements.
  • Walk jobs with construction contractors to review work practices, validate understanding of scope, and ensure installation quality.
  • Provide real-time field feedback to project engineers regarding constructability, design issues, and site conditions.
  • Support punchlist development, execution, and closeout.
  • Act as the field-level HSSE representative, ensuring adherence to company and regulatory safety requirements. Help maintain a strong safety culture across all onsite activities.
  • Coach contractors on safe work practices; stop unsafe work when required.
  • Conduct field inspections and support field-level permitting and Management of Change (MOC) processes. Ensure contractors understand and comply with all required permits. Facilitate field execution of MOCs by validating scope impacts, confirming that changes are documented, and ensuring that all required approvals are in place before work proceeds.
  • Provide weekly updates to project engineers and project managers on field progress, risks, and issues.
  • Document field activities, deviations, and lessons learned.
  • Support commissioning and startup activities as required.
