Working together, we respectfully address the comprehensive needs of our patients and their families. About this Unit: Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work in the care suites unit? If so, then this might just be the position for you! Our Care Suites include Pre-Post Cath Lab and Radiology/ Imaging and other cardiovascular patients. Will perform comprehensive nursing assessments on interventional and diagnostic patients included under the radiology/cardiovascular care umbrella. Pre and Post procedure care responsibilities encompass a wide range of radiology diagnostic and interventional procedures including, but not limited to heart caths, PTCR, arterial angiograms, electrophysiology studies, and a wide range of radiologic diagnostic and interventional procedures. Nursing responsibilities also include monitoring patients receiving sedation in a variety of settings. Primary population is adults with some pediatrics. Schedule: This position will be working .5 FTE (40 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on evenings (11am-7:30pm) with weekends as needed. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.

Requirements

  • MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • 1 year of RN Critical Care Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • 1 year of pre/post procedural experience
  • Proving moderate sedation
  • Experience with Post Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI) Sheath removal

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
  • Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care
  • Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs.
  • Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care
  • Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP)
