About The Position

Responsibilities: Responsible for seeing that approved standards of resident care are maintained and overseeing the quality of nursing care on assigned unit. Delegates responsibility for direct resident care activities to Nurse(s) assigned on unit. Responsible for supervising, evaluating, counseling, and coaching care members on assigned units. Responsible for identifying and resolving problems at the unit level. Keeps the Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing informed of resident’s status through verbal communication and written reports. Makes daily rounds and checks acutely ill residents, admissions, and follows up on residents. Performs periodic audit of charting and documentation. Assures proper execution of physician's orders. Deals effectively, professionally, and tactfully with resident and family concerns. Submits weekly and monthly reports on statistics, meetings, and other pertinent information. Attends continuing education classes, seminars, workshops to maintain professional competency. Participates in on-call rotation with other nurse managers as assigned. Qualifications: Current NY State Registered Nurse License 2 years of Nursing Administration experience preferred Education: Associate Degree BSN Preferred
