RN Unit Coordinator (4498)
About The Position
This position is for a Registered Nurse whose responsibility is to oversee day-to-day patient care activities to patients receiving therapeutic and diagnostic services in Medical Surgical Services, in accordance with accreditation standards, federal, state, and local regulations, organizational and departmental policies and procedures and professional standards. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, prioritize, plan, deliver, and evaluate neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient responses to potential life threatening situations or illnesses. Refers unusual clinical and administrative problems to the Director of Medical Surgical Services or House Supervisor. Responsible for the supervision of professional and skilled personnel during an assigned shift. The position reports to the Director of Medical Surgical Services.
Requirements
- Education level equivalent to completion of a Bachelor of Science (BSN) degree in nursing required.
- Clinical competence in nursing required.
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Georgia
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required and PALS within 90 days of employment.
- Advanced technical nursing skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of the nursing process.
- Basic cardiac arrhythmia identification skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Minimum of two (2) years of medical surgical experience required.
Nice To Haves
- Medical Surgical experience/CCU or equivalent preferred.
