RN, Transplant Quality Analyst - Baroness Hospital - Full-time

About The Position

The Transplant Quality Analyst RN is responsible for prioritization, development, implementation, assessment, interpretation and improvement of data related to the Transplant Department at Erlanger Health System. - Ensure that appropriate process, outcome, and balancing metrics are collected and communicated in an effective and timely manner to the relevant internal customers. o This requires an understanding of relevant data being collected in hospital computerized medical records and other relevant systems and understanding effective ways to extract needed data. o This may include developing, maintaining, and/or auditing external logs and data collection tools, as needed. o This may also include developing and/or maintaining balanced scorecards and dashboards and coordinating data across multiple sources or platforms. - Use lean and six sigma tools to assist process owners with developing new and enhanced processes to improve Transplant quality, and ensure implementation of related process changes - Conduct audits for pre- and post-transplant records, and pre- and post-living donor records, and track and trend variances that are identified. - Provide data and presentation support and preparation services for meetings where Transplant Quality is discussed. - Present pertinent metrics and outcomes to the hospital quality committee according to the QAPI plan. - Maintain tracking logs including adverse events within e-Safe. - Ensure that relevant quality data requirements from regulatory agencies are addressed and fulfilled or escalated as needed. - Provide any needed documentation or information for departments or initiatives in the hospital, such as apparent cause analysis or root cause analysis initiatives. - The Transplant Quality Analyst RN must be able to perform data compilation and analytics and communicate results effectively and professionally. - The Transplant Quality Analyst RN will develop and manage the quality initiatives and metrics related to solid organ transplant, monitor quality of care, and ensure regulatory compliance with the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and DNV. This position will also plan and execute strategies to remedy current and anticipated quality and regulatory compliance issues.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in an analytical field or Nursing. Strong related experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Critical thinking skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess the ability to assess and analyze complex problems and be able to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Strong technical ability in basic business software such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information or issues in a confidential and respectful manner.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of customer service and telephone courtesy.
  • The ability to defuse stressful situations.
  • At least 2 years' analytic experience, including extensive use of software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, SPSS, SAS, R Programming, or other related programs.
  • Current RN licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee.
  • BLS completed prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward.
  • Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.

Nice To Haves

  • If non-nursing education; 1 or more years of experience in a healthcare environment.
  • A strong renal clinical knowledge and background are preferred.
  • Understanding of kidney transplantation; with two years or more experience appropriate to transplantation.
  • Experience in organ call.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Quality background in transplant.
  • Additional skills such as, but not limited to computer science, accounting, finance, public health, economics, engineering, or a bio-statistics related field.
  • At least three years of general nursing practice; knowledge of organizational functions, policies, and regulations; knowledge of current trends and new developments, principles and practices of nursing.
  • Yellow, Green or Black Belt
