The J52 unit is a 24-bed unit specializing in the care of patients with a broad range of medical and surgical conditions. This includes individuals preparing for pre-cardiac catheterization and PTCAs, as well as those undergoing electrophysiological studies for arrhythmias, AICD or pacemaker placement, and those experiencing unstable angina. The unit also cares for post–thoracic surgery patients recovering from procedures such as lobectomies, pneumonectomies, thoracoscopic bilateral lung volume reduction for emphysema, and esophagogastrectomies. As an RN on our team, you will play a vital role throughout the patient care journey, providing expert, life-saving interventions while offering compassionate support that promotes safety, recovery, and a positive patient and family experience. In this role, you will work closely with patients and their loved ones, enhancing their understanding of their condition and treatment plan and ensuring they feel informed, supported, and cared for at every step. How You’ll Benefit Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working nights between 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide direct nursing care. Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans. Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions. Administer prescribed medications and treatments. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. Educate patients and their families.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience
