The Cardiothoracic Surgery Department offers virtually every type of cardiac surgery. Serving in this Weekender Flex role allows you to be with loved ones, fulfill life responsibilities, take care of children and complete anything else that may interfere with a typical weekday workload. Even more, Cleveland Clinic offers 36 hours but will pay you for 44 hours. You also gain full-time status and all our included benefits. Whether you are an experienced RN or a new graduate, all nurses entering an OR specialty unit participate in a comprehensive orientation program to ensure a smooth transition into the surgical environment. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the surgical team to deliver exceptional patient care, from the initial introduction to the final send-off. This is a weekender position that will work nights from 6:00pm to 6:30am. A caregiver in this role will have their shifts assigned after orientation. Orientation is 6 months long, Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. If you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it within six months of hire
  • One year of RN experience OR completion of Cleveland Clinic's Perioperative Residency Program

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) or American Red Cross

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
  • Perform scrub and circulating functions.
  • Prepare the OR, surgical instruments and equipment for use.
