About The Position

The RN Triage Supervisor is responsible for the coordination, oversight, and supervision of triage services during non-business hours. This includes providing clinical and operational support to telephone nurses, field staff, and inpatient facilities. The supervisor ensures smooth operations, manages urgent situations, and supports staff in delivering high-quality care. The role requires sound clinical judgment, strong leadership, and the ability to act as a resource and liaison for internal teams and leadership. This position supervises telephone triage nurses during nights and weekends.

Requirements

  • Strong clinical knowledge in hospice, acute care, or home health settings.
  • Ability to manage and lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Skilled in critical thinking, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Proficiency in using electronic systems and documentation tools.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in acute care, oncology, home health, or hospice.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
  • Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Degree from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor's in Nursing).
  • Ability to handle urgent clinical and operational issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Participation in continuing education and adherence to professional nursing standards

  • Experience in supervisory or leadership roles preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and clinical oversight of triage operations during non-business hours.
  • Coordinate and track field visits across disciplines and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Serve as the supervising authority for telephone, night, and weekend RN triage staff during assigned shifts.
  • Supplement telephone nursing support as needed.
  • Report narcotic discrepancies or suspicions to appropriate leadership per protocol.
  • Identify and escalate systematic or clinical issues that may impact patient outcomes.
  • Address and refer grievances or conflicts to appropriate leadership.
  • Model professional behavior and promote interdependent team collaboration.
  • Maintain department metrics and participate in quality assurance efforts.
  • Promote a positive agency image and uphold compliance with internal policies.
  • Attend meetings and participate in staff education and development activities.
