About The Position

The Regional Student Program Manager supervises the Student Services Coordinator and independently manages regional student clinical placement processes including establishing and managing placement schedules, monitoring computer access and training compliance, managing student related onboarding and orientation, maintaining auditable records for students and academic instructors, and completing audits of placements and placement processes as required by laws, regulations, and policies. Communicates effectively with academic partners and others involved in the student placement process. Functions as an integral member of the Providence Alaska Learning Institute to accomplish goals related to student placement and workforce development. This position manages the day-to-day operations and activities of student programs within the Alaska region. Responsibilities include management of operations of the Providence Scholar Program including working with academic partners and the Providence facilities where the scholars are eventually hired. Ensures that all Student Placement Program activities comply with state, regional, and national accreditation, regulatory, and agency guidelines and Providence policies through oversight of the Student Services Coordinator. Prepares and submits appropriate and timely reports describing Student Services activities to external agencies as required by regulation. Coordinates and prepares for accreditation site visits related to all non-employee training experiences. Exercises independent judgment with 24-hour accountability for student rotations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • Certification within area of expertise or practice required as available (Professional Development) within 2 years of hire.
  • 5 years of working within a health care organization.
  • 2 years of experience in the creation and implementation of continuing nursing education.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree and a graduate degree (Master or higher) in Nursing, Education, Business, Administration, or related field is preferred.
  • Nurses without a graduate degree are required to be in active pursuit of such within the first 18 months of employment.
  • 2 years of advanced knowledge of general theories and practices in adult education and courses in the health science field and the ability to teach and lead groups.
