A Day in the Life As an RN, Staff Nurse at Home of the Innocents, you’ll provide high-quality medical care to children and young adults with diverse needs in a supportive, trauma-informed environment. You’ll play a vital role in assessing, planning, and implementing individualized care plans, while maintaining a safe and therapeutic atmosphere that nurtures the well-being of every resident. How This Position Contributes to Our Mission Deliver compassionate nursing care to children with complex medical needs, ensuring their health, safety, and comfort. Lead care planning by assessing, planning, and evaluating individualized treatment approaches. Provide tracheostomy and ventilator care, with training available for those new to this area. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. Foster a nurturing, trauma-informed environment that supports healing and emotional well-being. Educate residents and families on managing medical conditions to promote long-term health outcomes.

Requirements

  • Active, unencumbered RN license in the State of Kentucky
  • CPR/BLS certification required, will be provided, if necessary
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with or willingness to learn vents, trachs, and medically complex care
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for working with children and families
  • Commitment to trauma-informed care and collaborative problem-solving

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in pediatrics or long-term care preferred but not required
