About The Position

The RN - Spine Program Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination, and oversight of clinical and specialty program accreditation, performance, compliance, and reporting. This role ensures continuity of care across the patient journey, from ambulatory clinic visit to surgery through post-acute care, while promoting evidence-based practices and program objectives. The coordinator collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, physicians, and external stakeholders to improve access, quality, patient outcomes, and experience.

Requirements

  • 5 Years of RN Experience- Required upon hire
  • 3 Year of Neurosurgery or Orthopedic RN experience- Required upon Hire
  • Bachelors degree in nursing-Required upon hire
  • Registered Nurse in FL or Compact License- Required upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary catalyst and owner of the DNV Advanced Spine Certification, in partnership with all stakeholders including surgeons, OR, nursing, case management, quality, finance, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinates DNV Advanced Spine Certification efforts in partnership and alignment of BHC’s Quality Management System and Quality Management Oversight Committee (QMOC).
  • Serve as a clinical resource for teams and leaders, addressing immediate needs and guiding care delivery.
  • Lead and participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) projects using Lean methods and evidence-based tools.
  • Evaluate quality metrics and trends for clinical and specialty programs, ensuring alignment with program goals and certification requirements.
  • Lead the development of an annual report summarizing program achievements, challenges, and plans for the upcoming year.
  • Facilitate regular interdisciplinary meetings to review program performance and address operational issues
  • Conduct a comprehensive review of program policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring alignment with evidence-based practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and oversee the initial and ongoing specialty certification or recertification process.
  • Serve as a liaison for regulatory or program-specific site visits, ensuring readiness and compliance.
  • Organize and deliver educational sessions or workshops for patients, families, or staff as needed.
  • Conduct patient assessments, gathering physical, psychosocial, and medical history data to support care planning.
  • Provide patient and family education on pre- and post-operative care, disease management, medications, and treatments.
  • Collaborate with physicians, APPs, schedulers, and other stakeholders to coordinate referrals, imaging, and follow-up appointments.
  • Monitor patient progress and address barriers to care adherence, escalating issues as needed.
  • Document interactions and findings in the EMR according to organizational policies.
  • Assists in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
  • May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
