About The Position

Thank you for your interest in EvergreenHealth and in our RN Residency! RN RESIDENCY PROGRAM DETAILS: EvergreenHealth's Residency Program consists of group practicums and lectures that support the graduate RN to mitigate the education-to-industry gap. We foster growth in the clinical, professional, and transitional aspects of professional nursing practice. The Residency program incorporates collaborative team support by managers, preceptors and clinical nurse educators. RN Residents are required to have an active Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license and a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS card by start date of May 11, 2026 . Must be able to start the program on May 11, 2026 To receive consideration for this RN Resident program, please submit an application to include a comprehensive resume (that includes rotation and practicum information) and a one-page cover letter that describes your interest in the Family Maternity Center (FMC), specifically Labor & Delivery, and includes the personal and professional attributes you would bring to this program and unit. Requirements

  • Graduate of a nursing program (Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required)
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington by May 11, 2026
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification by May 11, 2026
  • NRP certification by the end of residency
  • Able to start on May 11, 2026

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN)
  • Master’s in Nursing (MSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
  • Assesses the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
  • Coordinates the patient and family/significant other education process.
  • Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, incorporating patient and family/significant other into the process.
  • Participates with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family/significant other plan of care.
  • Communicates effectively all relevant information (e.g., patient information, safety issues, problems with equipment, quality issues, etc.) to immediate supervisor, in timely way.
  • Communicates and documents changes in patient condition, on a timely basis, to charge nurse/supervisor and physician.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
