RN / Registered Nurse - Crisis Unit
About The Position
Join our team and be a part of something extraordinary as part of Legacy’s IRTS Program House. IRTS Program House (Cheryl House) This is an (IRSTS) Intensive Residential Structured Treatment Service program for Youth with mental health diagnosis and mood dysregulation. This is a residential setting of (5) beds and is a locked unit. All residents have their own room and are supervised by Trained Residential Staff. All residents eat meals in the home prepared by staff. There is a separate nurse station located in the home. The role involves providing ongoing nursing assessments and treatments, participating in admissions, coordinating mental health and psychiatric services within a multidisciplinary team, and attending interdisciplinary treatment meetings. Additional duties include delivering health education and disease prevention services, conducting 2 one-hour health groups weekly, educating staff on medications, reviewing medication logs, evaluating consumers post-restraint, and monitoring medical supplies and equipment.
Requirements
- Requires compliance with the New Jersey State Board of Nursing licensing regulations, Office of Licensing standards, DCPP regulations, and agency policies while maintaining regular communication with the supervisory Psychiatrist
- Minimum of three years of psychiatric nursing experience
- Current Registered Nurse New Jersey nursing license or multistate license
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Executing Physician and APN orders
- Administering medications in accordance with state and agency requirements
- Observing and documenting residents’ responses
- Ensuring timely and accurate electronic medication administration records
