About The Position

Job Specific Competencies: Directly accountable for preventing hospital acquired infections related to hand-hygiene performance of self and staff Demonstrates ability to adapt to varied age specific patient populations Reviews pertinent chart data and assesses patient on arrival to PACU establishing and documenting the baseline Identifies and responds appropriately to any unanticipated or emergency situations that could arise postoperatively including malignant hyperthermia. Provides optimal continuity of post-operative patient care, ensuring that patient is discharged when discharge criteria is met. Demonstrates ability to care for multiple patients in various stages of recovery in a timely manner. Performs venipuncture, IV infusion therapy, and pump usage. Surgical wound care assessment and documentation. Performs glucometer testing. Medication administration which includes critical meds pulus evaluating response. Identifies and responds appropriately to Malignant Hyperthermia protocols. Demonstrates ability for oral, naso, tracheostomy, endo, and tracheal suctioning Reports critical lab, radiology, EKG, and ABG values to MD according to policy. Proficient in ventilation management and pulmonary support. Assists with bedside and interventional radiological procedures.

Requirements

  • Assoc . Degree or Diploma Nursing School
  • Current NJ Nursing License
  • BLS/ACLS/PALS - AHA approved

Nice To Haves

  • BSN degree encouraged
  • 1 to 2 years experience in an Operating Room
