About The Position

Join Cleveland Clinic Akron General, a healthcare system providing world-class care for over 100 years. As an RN in the Rapid Observation Unit, which is part of the Emergency Department (ED), you will provide treatment and evaluation to patients to determine if hospital admission is necessary. This role involves delivering exceptional patient care throughout their journey, interacting directly with patients and their families, and providing healthcare education as needed. You will work and learn from experienced caregivers, receive support and appreciation, and contribute to a patient-centered environment committed to serving the community.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • Cardiac and/or Telemetry experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population
  • Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
  • Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in care and serve as a patient advocate
  • Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication, and document
  • Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient / family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process
  • Delegate tasks, serve as a resource person, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, maintain applicable certification/licensure and obtain any required certifications specific to the unit
