About The Position

An opportunity to join Trinity Health Oakland as a Registered Nurse on the Post Surgical Unit. Trinity Health Oakland is a 497-bed community teaching hospital and level II trauma center, providing comprehensive care including cardiovascular, stroke, orthopedics, obstetrics, gynecology, and cancer care. The hospital has been a leading provider of advanced medical care for over 90 years and has received numerous awards for leadership, quality outcomes, and clinical excellence. This is a full-time position, scheduled for 36 hours per week with 12-hour shifts, including a weekend rotation and holiday commitment. The Registered Nurse is accountable for managing patient care during a designated timeframe, coordinating and evaluating care, teaching, and delegating patient activities to other healthcare team members using therapeutic self, the nursing process, and the environment. The role involves assuming a leadership position in providing professional nursing care, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the continuum plan of care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, actively supporting Shared Governance, and promoting customer service.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or equivalent
  • Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required for all RN Care Managers providing in-patient care at the bedside
  • Excellent customer service orientation skills necessary in order to deal effectively with various levels of hospital personnel, outside customers and community groups
  • Minimum two years' work experience as an RN on a medical/surgical type unit

Responsibilities

  • Management of patient care during a designated timeframe
  • Coordination and evaluation of care

  • Assumes a leadership role in providing professional nursing care to patients within Trinity Oakland Hospital
  • Coordination, implementation and evaluation of the continuum plan of care in collaboration with other members of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Actively supports and participates in Shared Governance
  • Promotes the organizational commitment to customer service
