About The Position

Marymount Hospital is an acute care, faith-based hospital serving the needs of Garfield Heights and the Southeast communities of Cuyahoga County. Caregivers are guided by Christian values of service, compassion, dignity, and respect, and live by the mission of providing world-class healthcare. Marymount Hospital’s 2 East is a med/surg unit that provides general medical care and pre-/post-operative care to patients requiring orthopaedic surgical interventions such as hip and knee replacements and fractures. 2 South also provides general medical care and pre-/post-operative care to patients requiring various surgical procedures, such as hysterectomy, TURPs, thyroidectomy, cholecystectomy, and debridements. Both 2 East and 2 South specialize in treating patients with congestive heart failure, chest tubes, wound VACs, and endocrinology disorders. The multi-disciplinary team includes registered nurses, physicians, nurse practitioners, physical and occupational therapists, dietitians, pharmacy support, and case management. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding, and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs
  • Educate patients and their families
