The licensed registered nurse is a professional nurse who is responsible and accountable for providing evidence-based clinical care to designated patients utilizing the nursing process. This is accomplished by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care per established ethical/cultural codes and standards of nursing practices and working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes. The float pool registered nurse is responsible to delegate tasks appropriately to other licensed and unlicensed health care team members. The RN will be scheduled to work in 1 of the following tracks: Critical Care Track – Any adult critical care, telemetry or transitional care unit at the Edgewood, Grant County, Covington, Florence & Ft. Thomas, and Dearborn facilities. Any adult critical care, telemetry or transitional care patient assignments boarding in other areas. (ED, PACU, ICU). Acute Care Track - Any adult acute care unit, telemetry or transitional care unit at the Edgewood, Grant County, Covington, Florence & Ft. Thomas, and Dearborn facilities. Any adult acute care or transitional care patient assignments boarding in other areas. (ED, PACU, ICU). The RN will be hired in at level 5 for the system wide float pool with the expectation to work ANY SHIFT. 216 hours per 6 weeks (36 hrs./week) 48 hours of the 216 hours must be weekend hours. These RNs are not boarded in hours and will be called off first in the event of low census if unable to pull to another area in the healthcare system. The distribution of required Mondays and Fridays will be managed at the unit level. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors, and other employees regardless of cultural background.
