About The Position

As a mother cares for their newborn baby, the Outpatient Lactation Consultant RN will provide expert consultation and support. You will conduct in-person and telehealth nursing visits as you counsel families on infant feeding, lactation initiation and maintenance and overcoming challenges. You will support and maintain employee lactation projects and serve as a lactation resource throughout ProMedica and in your community. Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience in quality improvement and evidence-based practice implementation and evaluation.
• Experience in educational program development.
• Experience in adult education utilizing principles of teaching and learning.
• At least 3-4 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably two of which are in maternal-child nursing or a related field.
• Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Ohio (RN)

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Previous experience with developing and delivering staff education.
• Previous experience as an outpatient nurse preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience as a lactation counselor, consultant, or peer
• International Board Certified Lactation Consultant preferred, related certifications considered on individualized basis
