About The Position

Accountable for the direct and indirect care for infants and women both in the inpatient or outpatient clinic setting. Responsible to provide postpartum maternal and neonatal assessments. Develops feeding plans to address the nutritional needs of the infant that may include but is not limited to breastfeeding support, breast pumping support, and supplementation as appropriate. Provides lactation support and education to mothers as directed by referral or in the clinic setting after discharge. Providence caregivers are not simply valued – they’re invaluable. Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited college level lactation certification program that includes 300 hours or more of precepted clinical lactation experience may be substituted for years of prior experience.
  • Oregon Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) upon hire.
  • 3 years of experience providing lactation care in a Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, or NICU department or in an outpatient mother baby clinical setting.
