Corewell Health South is a health system in Southwest Michigan comprising three hospitals, a regional cancer center, rehabilitation centers, two long-term care residences, home care and hospice services, and 34 affiliate physician practice locations, providing both inpatient and outpatient medical services. The nursing role involves delivering responsible and accountable care as professionally described by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. This includes demonstrating competency through the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) and upholding ANA standards of professional performance, such as ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, resource utilization, and environmental health, all with the goal of achieving optimal patient outcomes.
