About The Position

Administrative Duties a. Administers clinical services consistent within the mission, objectives, and scope of Occupational Health Services. b. Provides necessary assistance to Clinical Staff of the OHS Department. c. Maintains appropriate medical records to meet legal requirements and standards of good practice. d. Maintains confidentiality of patients and obtains releases when necessary. e. Effectively communicates with Director, Clinical Leaders, OHS Manager, CCHC Managers, OHS staff and other hospital departments. f. Refers nursing and non-nursing tasks appropriately. g. Collaborates with OHS Management in developing objectives for employee health services, compatible with the CCHC’s corporate goals and objectives when appropriate. h. Determines goals with OHS Manager/Director and reports on progress in a timely manner. i. Actively participates on appropriate committees as assigned. Patient Care a. Provides nursing care, including; Preplacement screening, testing, emergency first aid, and follow-up of injury and illness consistent with OHS policies and procedures with minimal supervision. b. Works closely with Infection Control and staff during Outbreak Management Exposures. c. Instruct/triage employees in appropriate care of injury and/or illness. d. Documents progress notes in employee/volunteer chart and communicates appropriate information relative to the case for all work-related (WR) and non work-related (NWR) appointments. e. Uses standard precautions and appropriate hand hygiene. f. Performs all duties in accordance with established departmental and corporate policies and procedures. g. Performs and is responsible for Tuberculin Skin Testing (TST) screening and surveillance for any and all CCHC entity employees, volunteers, and medical staff. h. Performs and is responsible for Respirator Fit Testing (RFT) and training for any and all CCHC entity employees determined to be candidates for wearing an N95 respirator or a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR). Additional Responsibilities a. Establishes appropriate priorities to carryout daily workload. b. Works effectively with other departments to resolve issues and improve services. c. Notifies Director/OHS Manager of problems or potential problems in a timely manner. d. Takes initiative to complete tasks. Knows appropriate chain of command. e. May be required to work/travel to other sites/facilities for coverage on an as needed basis. f. Performs all duties in accordance with safety and other laws, rules and regulations as set forth by appropriate regulatory and government agencies and in accordance with established department and corporate policies and procedures. g. May be required to perform similar or related duties as may be necessary on an emergency basis or as designated by the OHS Manager. h. Performs and is responsible for Occupational Health Outbreak Management Process.
