Seeking an experienced RN for White 8, a 26 bed adult population general medicine inpatient unit The patients on this unit represent a diverse adult population with a wide range of complex medical problems including cardiovascular, pulmonary, endocrine, neurological, psychosocial and infectious disease. The nursing skills developed on this unit are endless; physical and psychosocial assessment, telemetry, complex dressing changes, peritoneal dialysis,etc. Collaboration with other health care professionals across disciplines is fundamental to nursing practice on White 8. Responsibilities include assuring competent, compassionate nursing care for specific patients and families. The RN will collaborate with the Nurse Director and Clinical Nurse Specialist and other members of the Patient Care Team to achieve optimal Patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- 1+ years of experience
- Associate's Degree Nursing required
- Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year required
- Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
- Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
Nice To Haves
- BSN degree is strongly preferred
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.
- Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
- Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
- Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
