About The Position

Located in Lakewood, Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center providing a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region. It is the home base for Flight For Life® Colorado, featuring four trauma rooms including the T-10 room, a dedicated field-to-surgery suite ready 24/7 for trauma surgeons and specially trained teams. The hospital received Magnet designation in 2023 and holds numerous other awards and accreditations. The 6th Floor Acute Care Unit is a dynamic, 36-bed Magnet®-designated unit specializing in trauma and oncology care, treating patients with blunt abdominal, chest, and orthopedic injuries, as well as oncology patients requiring chemotherapy administration and management of neutropenic conditions. The unit fosters a culture of positivity, professional development, and actively supports student nurse education and mentorship. Nurses joining this team are expected to be adaptable, committed to continuous learning, team-oriented, positive, resilient, effective communicators, and accountable to high standards of care. Qualified external applicants with at least six months of direct RN experience are eligible for a $20,000 sign-on bonus, and relocation assistance up to $10,000 may be available for those living over 50 miles away. The position involves two 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends and includes a $5.75/hr night shift differential from 11pm to 7am.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing preferred for experienced RNs
  • One year experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
