About The Position

St. Anthony Hospital, located in Lakewood, Colorado, is a Level I Trauma Center providing a comprehensive range of medical specialties and healthcare services to Denver and the surrounding region. It serves as the home base for Flight For Life® Colorado and is equipped with four trauma rooms, including the T-10 room, which is a dedicated field-to-surgery suite available 24/7. The hospital achieved Magnet designation in 2023 and has received numerous other awards, certifications, and accreditations from organizations such as the American Heart Association, Chest Pain Center (CPC), American College of Cardiology, The Joint Commission, Emergency Nurses Association, NAPBC, and American College of Radiology. The 7th Floor Medical Surgical department is a 36-bed unit that primarily treats septic patients, as well as surgical patients, those experiencing ETOH withdrawal, cellulitis, and individuals with chronic conditions like COPD and CHF. The unit fosters a strong culture of teamwork and positivity, boasting high nurse communication scores and serving as an innovative hub where hospital-wide projects often originate. The hospital is seeking dynamic, hard-working individuals who possess a positive attitude, open communication skills, dedication, and accountability, and who are invested in the department's mission.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs
  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
  • One year experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the health care team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
