This specific role is for a Registered Nurse on the Med/Surg- Neuro Unit at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. This is a 36-bed Medical Surgical unit specializing in Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Level 2 Trauma, also providing Telemetry monitoring for up to 26 patients. The patient population includes those undergoing Vascular, Thoracic, and General Surgery. The unit prides itself on excellent patient care in conjunction with a Multidisciplinary Team. This is also described as a great opportunity for New To Practice Nurses.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent
  • Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) months experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Under direction of the Manager, Patient Services or designee of individual assigned unit, perform a variety of duties involving coordinating total nursing care for patients
  • Participating in patient and family teaching
  • Providing leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice within an assigned patient care unit
  • Has knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which is appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served
