The organization has been voted 'Best Place to Work' for 7 years in a row. This position is for a talented RN on the Med/Surg- Neuro Unit at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. This is a 36-bed Medical Surgical unit specializing in Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Level 2 Trauma. The unit also provides Telemetry monitoring for up to 26 patients and cares for a patient population including those undergoing Vascular surgery, Thoracic, and General Surgery. The team prides itself on providing excellent patient care in conjunction with all members of its Multidisciplinary Team. This is a great opportunity for New To Practice Nurses.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent is required
  • Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) months experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Under direction of the Manager, Patient Services or designee of individual assigned unit, perform a variety of duties involving coordinating total nursing care for patients
  • Participate in patient and family teaching
  • Provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice within an assigned patient care unit
  • Possess knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which is appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served
