About The Position

The Registered Nurse Manager provides clinical leadership and operational oversight for assigned nursing units within the psychiatric hospital. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, and compassionate behavioral health care while supporting staff development, regulatory compliance, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Sunrise Vista Behavioral Hospital provides professional, compassionate psychiatric care for adults and seniors in the Canton, Ohio area. We specialize in treating symptoms related to depression, anxiety, acute psychosis, and other mental health crises. Our interdisciplinary team of experienced physicians, nurses, and clinicians collaborate to create individualized treatment plans that empower patients to build resilience, independence, and confidence for a safe transition back into their communities. Responsibilities

  • Oversees and coordinates patient care delivery, ensuring assessments, care plans, and documentation are completed accurately and within established timeframes.
  • Provides direct supervision and leadership to nursing staff, including delegation of duties, performance monitoring, coaching, and shift oversight.
  • Ensures adherence to hospital policies, psychiatric nursing standards, medication administration protocols, and detoxification guidelines.
  • Monitors patient status and acuity, responding promptly to changes in condition and coordinating interventions with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Facilitates effective communication among nursing staff, physicians, and clinical team members regarding patient progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Ensures physician orders are accurately transcribed, implemented, and evaluated.
  • Promotes a therapeutic, respectful, and trauma-informed environment that upholds patient rights and dignity.
  • Orients patients and families to the program and provides education related to treatment plans and expectations.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives, staff education, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Performs other leadership and clinical duties as assigned by senior nursing leadership.
