Some travel is expected within the area. Pay Range $47.50 - $71.25 Major Responsibilities: Oversees the Comprehensive/Primary Stroke Center certification in collaboration with the Senior Director of Neuroscience, Stroke Quality staff, and Stroke Program Medical Director. This includes oversight of submission of applications, reports, action plans and coordination of onsite certification visits. Establishes annual stroke program goals, in collaboration with the Stroke Program Medical Director and the Core Stroke Committee. This includes development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies to achieve the annual goals. Ensures current clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) are incorporated into the care of the acute stroke patient. Partners with the Stroke Program Medical Director, nursing leadership and other hospital leaders to incorporate CPGs into refinement of acute stroke response algorithms, review of order sets, care plans and policy/procedures. Co-chairs site-based stroke committees with key stroke team members. Supports and ensures committees complete all assignments. Coordinates and facilitates quarterly site stroke steering committees. Participates and supports system stroke Practice and System Stroke Education committees. Acts as a liaison between the stat/stroke responders, ED personnel, Inpatient units, stroke NPs, Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute clinic and hospital- based stroke program. Collaborates with Stroke Program Medical Director and Stroke Quality team to establish the quality improvement plans. Oversees improvements in stroke quality outcomes/measures. Reports quality data to the Quality and Safety Council annually. Analyzes stroke data and facilitates corrective action. This includes reviewing and revising tools used for rounding, concurrent review and tracers. Coordinates community and EMS educational offerings per regulatory guidelines and community needs. Provides input, direction and expertise in the development, application, and evaluation of orientation and continuing education programs. Coaches staff to assist in identification of their goals to advance practice and career advancement. Develops a plan with employees for achievement of identified goals. Assists personnel in areas where deficits are identified. Assists personnel in identification of areas of growth. Facilitates research-based nursing by creating an environment that encourages the utilization of research in practice; uses research in decision-making to maintain quality, cost and customer service; and assures the integration of research in congruence with departmental, organizational, regional and system strategic goals. Coordinates/manages all resources necessary to optimally provide care. This includes the availability of staff resources, patient educational supplies, and stroke office supplies. Responsible for effectively managing resources through systems management, carefully coordinating system issues to assure optimal patient care. Provides expert clinical advice to the multidisciplinary team in designing collaborative teaching plans/programs and in planning/providing patient/family education and discharge planning including wellness and health maintenance within designated specialty. Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale. Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives. Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization's business.
