Marketing and community outreach experience will be key in expanding census and strengthening referral relationships in the Temple market. JOB SUMMARY The Hospice Administrator is responsible for the strategic and daily operations of the agency, or potentially multiple agency locations, while balancing the daily goals of the agency(s) with the larger strategic vision of the group to drive results in operational performance in all areas of Quality and Safety, Team Member Experience, Customer Experience, Financial Stewardship, and patient census growth. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with Medicare Hospice Conditions of Participation (COPs), revenue cycle, billing, patient experience, human resources, budgeting, financial analysis, clinical workflows and recruitment and retention.

Requirements

  • 3 years in Hospice or Home Health preferred.
  • BSN required; MSN preferred.
  • 2 years leadership experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite.
  • Financial experience, budgeting, work with spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation regulations required.
  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's
  • MAJOR - Nursing
  • EXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience
  • CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as Administrator of the agency(s) for purposes of compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation regulations (COPs).
  • Manage daily activities of the clinical and office staff to ensure patient care is compliant and efficient office operations are completed.
  • Develop, review, revise, submit and implement policies, procedures, and objectives for practice in compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation regulations (COPs).
  • Review and approve Hospice billing requiring adjustments from revenue cycle work queues prior to submission to Medicare.
  • Maintain and execute the QAPI program, reporting and Process Improvement Process (PIP) in accordance with Medicare COPs.
  • Manage the required Volunteer program as outlined in the Medicare required regulations.
  • Interview, select, train, supervise, evaluate, counsel, and recommend termination of assigned employees as required.
  • Develop and secure approval for agency operating budgets and recommend capital expenditures to the director.
  • Work with Hospice Medical Directors to ensure medical care is delivered in accordance with Medicare COPs.
  • Provide information to physicians, community groups, and referral agencies about Hospice programs provided by the agency.
  • Review, monitor and approve all DME and pharmacy invoices for services provided and ensure Medicare required quality assurance and process improvement meetings are conducted quarterly with these vendors.
