This position provides safe, accurate, and efficient patient care, encompassing patient assessment, review of labs and vital signs, medication safety, dose verification, and drug administration, while adhering to all Job Breakdown Instructions (JBIs). The role includes providing triage care as needed and effectively communicating patient conditions to multidisciplinary team members. Key responsibilities involve the safe and accurate administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non-oncologic agents according to provider orders and Oncology Nurse’s Society (ONS) standards. The nurse is also responsible for the accurate and safe disposal of biohazardous waste, per OSHA and NIOSH guidelines. Patient education is a continuous aspect, covering medications, side effects, and treatment plans, alongside ongoing patient assessment and support. Thorough and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is required, ensuring proper charge capture and patient identification. The role involves telephone triage, prioritizing calls from various sources from emergent to non-urgent, and responding promptly. Additional duties include assisting with inventory, re-stocking medical supplies, recommending new items, and completing annual safety and nursing trainings. The position requires attendance at mandatory staff meetings, maintaining patient and employee confidentiality, and assisting in training new employees. Flexibility to work at any company location and overtime with notice is expected. Compliance with all federal and state laws, regulations, and company policies is mandatory.
