This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St Luke's Medical Center of optimizing quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The Adult Infusion Center RN oversees and directs the care of the patient with hematologic/oncologic diagnosis receiving care in the outpatient setting. The Adult Infusion Center RN is responsible for the care of medical and surgical patients. Serves as primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Evaluates, plans, implements, and documents nursing care for patients in need of intravenous treatments or cellular therapeutic procedures. Determines and appropriately cannulates venipuncture sites in order to administer intravenous therapy treatments. Provides information to patients and families regarding intravenous therapy. When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license
  • BLS - Healthcare provider
  • ONS chemotherapy provider card required within the first 6 months of hire.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • One year experience in acute care or infusion center preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members.
  • Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • Chemotherapy Certification preferred
