About The Position

M Health Fairview is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Registered Nurse to join our Intermediate Care Float Pool at our Edina campus. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated RN who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys the challenge of working across multiple specialty areas. As a Float Pool RN, you will gain valuable experience on a variety of units including Neuro, Cardiac Telemetry, Surgical, and Intermediate Care. You may also float to Orthopedic, Medical/Telemetry, Observation, and Oncology units as needed, with opportunities for additional cross-training to expand your skills even further. The Float Pool RN is responsible for assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with professional practice standards, M Health Fairview policies, and the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act. Schedule: This night shift position is scheduled for 60 hours per pay period (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with every third weekend rotation (Friday, Satuday, Sunday). The role offers an additional $2.00 per hour differential for Float Pool assignment. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate

Requirements

  • MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
  • Minimum 6 months acute care RN experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
  • Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care
  • Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs.
  • Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care
  • Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP)
