This role requires adaptability, expertise, and a strong commitment to providing the best care to patients in acute medical situations. As a member of the ED Float Pool , you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care during their most urgent moments. The Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) is a versatile and highly skilled healthcare professional responsible for providing comprehensive medical and surgical care to adult patients in various units within the organization. The RN requires adaptability, expertise, and a strong commitment to delivering the best care to patients facing a variety of medical and surgical conditions. As a nurse in our float pool, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care during their hospital stay. With passionate and driven leadership behind them, our nurses can dedicate themselves to patient safety, clinical excellence, and life-long learning.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing required. Applicants with an associate degree must enroll in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years.
  • Active Maryland or Compact RN license required.
  • BLS CPR certification required.
  • At least one year of RN experience in an ED
  • Authorization to Work in the United States: Applicants who require sponsorship now or in the future will not be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

  • delivering emergency medical care to patients in the Emergency Department of both Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center
  • providing comprehensive medical and surgical care to adult patients in various units within the organization
