JOB DESCRIPTION: Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the nursing care of Intensive Care Unit/Telemetry patients. Promotes continuity of care for patients on the unit, providing direct patient care as well as supervising the care given by Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Aides and other support staff. Interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements concerning his or her age-specific needs. Participates in patient and family teaching. Maintains standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Demonstrates the values contained in the OMC and Nursing Department mission and philosophy statements. Supports and promotes a positive image of professional nursing and OMC. Has contact with patients under a variety of circumstances. Occasionally subjected to irregular hours.

Requirements

  • Graduate from accredited school of nursing.
  • Washington State RN license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Nice To Haves

  • Two years in a hospital setting preferred.
