About The Position

A respected acute-care hospital in North-Central Montana is seeking an experienced RN House Supervisor / Patient Flow Specialist to provide leadership, oversight, and operational support across hospital departments. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe staffing, effective patient flow, and high-quality patient care. Position Overview The House Supervisor / Patient Flow Specialist provides direction and guidance to hospital staff related to: Interpretation and application of policies and procedures Administrative decision-making and problem resolution Effective utilization and assignment of nursing resources Response to patient and family concerns or complaints

Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited Nursing Program
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a hospital setting
  • Recent ICU experience preferred
  • Experience with advanced medical equipment, including: Multiple IV pumps Arterial lines and invasive lines Chest tubes Ventilator-dependent patients
  • Experience caring for patients across the lifespan (infancy through geriatrics)
  • Background in patient flow, resource nursing, or nursing leadership roles
  • Proficiency with basic office and clinical documentation systems
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Montana
  • CPR certification (required)
  • ACLS and PALS (required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
  • Strong knowledge of advanced nursing principles and clinical procedures
  • Experience in post-operative and medical patient care
  • Solid background in cardiac monitoring
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Customer-service oriented with a collaborative mindset
  • Demonstrates flexibility, independent judgment, and strong critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to initiate and lead special projects
  • Capable of managing a fast-paced and high-volume workload

Responsibilities

  • Organize workflows and ensure staff understand assigned and delegated responsibilities
  • Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
  • Assume supervisory and administrative responsibilities in collaboration with clinical leadership
  • Work closely with charge nurses and clinical/non-clinical support staff
  • Support hospital operations during assigned shifts, acting as the administrative nursing authority
