As an RN in the Cardiac Cath lab, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care from the first introduction to the final send-off. In this role, you will support the cardiologist during invasive procedures involving the heart’s electrical system, such as those related to pacemakers or dysrhythmias. You will work directly with patients, families, and visitors, enhancing their experience and providing healthcare education as needed. Additionally, Cleveland Clinic offers extensive professional development resources, including educational opportunities and online or in-person courses to help you continue growing your skills. This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working shifts varying between 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross upon hire or within six months of hire
  • One year of recent experience as an RN OR Licensed RN with at least 2 years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department may substitute for required RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of recent experience as an RN
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • For Cardiac Catheterization or other related procedural areas, one year of critical care experience in a hospital setting
  • Critical care or Med/Surg experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings.
  • Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
  • Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
  • Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
  • Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
  • Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
  • Educate patients and families.
  • Cover other nursing roles in the department.
