About The Position

ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment primarily based in Burien, Washington, with potential float coverage to other facilities. This Level IV Trauma and Cardiac/Stroke Center ER features 32 beds, averaging 125–150 patient visits daily. The RN will provide high-quality emergency care to patients across the lifespan, working collaboratively with physicians, paramedics, and ED techs in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Ideal candidates will have strong triage, telemetry, and critical care skills, with experience managing ventilated patients and responding to stroke and STEMI alerts. Prior EPIC EMR experience and TNCC certification are preferred.

Requirements

  • Active Washington RN license or Compact State license (required).
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience (required).
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS (required).
  • Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, triage, and emergency interventions.
  • Strong communication, multitasking, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to float within Region I hospitals as needed.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Epic EMR and medication dispensing systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based emergency nursing care to patients of all ages with medical, surgical, cardiac, and trauma-related conditions.
  • Perform triage assessments and prioritize care based on acuity; complete triage testing if assigned to the triage role.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage telemetry monitoring from central station.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions safely and accurately.
  • Assist with emergency procedures including intubation, chest tube insertion, wound care, and conscious sedation.
  • Provide stabilization for trauma, cardiac, and stroke patients prior to transfer or admission.
  • Operate and maintain emergency equipment including ventilators, defibrillators, and rapid infusers.
  • Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, and support staff (including EMTs, ED techs, and security personnel) to ensure timely, coordinated patient care.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes using the Epic EMR system.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and safety policies at all times.
  • Work every other weekend and rotate holidays with permanent staff.
  • Float within hospitals as needed.
