About the Unit The Zeeland Emergency Department (ZH ED) is a certified primary stroke center and a Level III trauma center. We have 18 stretcher care areas where we see both adult and pediatric patients. We see approximately 28K patients per year, with 5,000 of those being pediatric. We are a tight knit team providing high quality care to our community which reflects in our highly rated patient experience scores. Scope of work Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Requirements

  • Associate's of Nursing required upon hire
  • Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing must be obtained within 5 years
  • MI RN upon hire
  • BLS from AHA or ARC within 90 days
  • ACLS and PALS from AHA within 180 days
  • ENPC and TNCC required within 1 year
