Caregivers in Lutheran Hospital’s Emergency Department provide care to all patient populations, ranging from infants to geriatrics, and ensure that each patient’s visit is as comfortable and stress-free as possible. As an RN on this unit, you will care for pre-surgical patients and those requiring antibiotic therapy and wound care, perform advanced dressing changes and assist with bedside thoracentesis and paracentesis procedures while collaborating with fellow caregivers to provide a welcoming, healing and safe environment for all patients. You will focus on enhancing care, helping facilitate a transformative experience for patients of all ages, medical histories and demographics. This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working 48 hours within a 6-week period on varying shifts between 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) through American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of hire
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within 24 months of hire
  • External applicants: two years of recent related nursing experience
  • Internal applicants: less than two years of experience, but post-orientation/90-day probationary period considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval
  • Military RN experience considered
