Hillcrest Hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) is the only Level II Trauma Center on Cleveland’s east side. The ED provides emergency services, ranging from minor injuries to critical and resuscitative care. Every second counts in an emergency – as an RN in this unit, you will use your comprehensive skills and expertise to ensure patients have the care they need quickly. You will have the support of your fellow caregivers assisting you, offering a cohesive, encouraging and constructive front to enhance the patient's experience and your skills as a nurse. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. working every other weekend and every other holiday.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within one year of hire
- In dedicated Trauma Centers, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC – adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC – pediatric) Upon hire or within 24 months of beginning work in the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
